Primary school teacher killed during five-minute walk to pub to meet friend
A young teacher was murdered on a five-minute walk to meet a friend at a pub, police believe.
Sabina Nessa, 28, was killed on Friday, September 17, shortly after she left her home and walked through Cator Park on her way to The Depot bar in Pegler Square, Kidbrooke Village, south-east London.
The young woman is believed to have been attacked in the park at around 8.30pm.
Her body was discovered on Saturday, September 18, near the OneSpace community centre hidden under a pile of leaves.
Zubel Ahmed, Nessa's cousin, spoke to ITV News and said the family remain "inconsolable".
He said: "The shock has not sunk in. She was a beautiful, kind, caring soul. I express my deepest sympathies for her sisters, mum and dad are absolutely devastated.
"Nothing is making sense to us, why was she taken from us we just don't know.
"She was the sweetest person, sweetest girl, I don't understand how someone can do this it's a big loss to our family."

A murder investigation was quickly launched and a post-mortem examination carried out on Monday, September 20, was inconclusive.
Detective Inspector Joe Garrity, leading the murder investigation, said: “Sabina’s journey should have taken just over five minutes but she never made it to her destination.
"We know the community are rightly shocked by this murder – as are we – and we are using every resource available to us to find the individual responsible.

"We are incredibly grateful for all of those who have so far come forward and spoken to us but we believe there are still others out there who may have information that could help.
"If you think you saw Sabina or any suspicious behaviour in or around the park on Friday evening please speak to us."
Headteacher at Rushey Green primary school, Lisa Williams, said yesterday: 'We are devastated by Sabina's tragic death. She was a brilliant teacher; she was kind, caring and absolutely dedicated to her pupils.

"She had so much life ahead of her and so much more to give and her loss is desperately sad.
"As a school we are supporting each other through this very difficult time, and we will be providing specialist support to those who need it."
The murder comes amid heightened fears for women's safety following the horrific murder of Sarah Everard, 33, in March.
A man in his forties was arrested on suspicion of murder just a few hours after Sabina's body was found by a dog walker, and was later released under investigation.
