‘Overloaded’ roof collapses with 45 students on top at raucous university party
A disaster has left 14 students hospitalised after a wild university party.
The roof of a student house completely collapsed after around 45 students reportedly climbed on top of it.
The building's roof disintegrated near Ohio State University on Saturday night, leaving some students trapped and many injured.

Emergency services said the roof, which was not designed to hold significant weight, was overloaded with students moments before the incident.
First responders were called to the property, on East 13th Avenue, at around 7.40pm.
Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Steve Martin said his department arrived to find the roof above a front porch had collapsed.
"The few people that were trapped, I believe, were probably unpinned," Mr Martin said. "It was like their leg was caught under some of the structure and some of the students lifted that off the students. So everybody was kind of out."
Fourteen victims were taken to local hospitals with "various states of injuries" but they all were in stable condition, he said.
"It appears the roof was overloaded with students," he added, with estimates ranging from 15 to 45 people on a rooftop "that was not designed to have anybody on it, and it gave way.”
Victims and other uninjured students were trapped under debris after the attack, but emergency services freed them. It is believed they were trapped under for a few hours during the attempt to locate all students.
The names of the home owner or occupants were not immediately available.
It is unclear how many of the victims or attendees of the party were students at the university, or if they were just local to the area.
The home is not on the property of the Ohio State University.
The main campus in Columbus has an enrolled student population of 61,677 for the 2022-2023 school year, according to the university's website.
