Russia’s chief propagandist Dmitry Kiselyov threatened the US with a possible nuclear attack after claiming that the United States plans to wipe out Russia from existence. The propagandist is seen citing a Russian decree which seems to justify the use of nuclear weapons in case “the state is put under threat” by other countries, as well as claiming that a world without Russia is not needed.

Kiselyov said: “This week there were many events illustrating that relations with America are becoming more and more tense.

“There’s the saying of intelligence with Ukraine, and the new sanctions and lots more.

“It’s obvious that the US aims not only to contain Russia but to destroy our country completely to cancel it, in modern terminology, if you will.

“In Washington among the ruling Democrats, there is such frenzy that at debates about the unprecedented amount of aid to Ukraine – now tens of millions of dollars – they’re saying directly that America is fighting Russia and cannot lose.”

As to confirm the claims previously made, Kiselyov showed an extract from the American TV Special Report, in which US Representative Seth Moulton allegedly said: “We’re not just at war to support the Ukrainians.

“We are fundamentally at war, although somewhat through a proxy, with Russia, and it’s important that we win.”

After showing the American TV extract, Kiselyov continued: “But Russia cannot lose either.

“If it comes to it and someone wants to create a threat to our existence, Putin’s logic comes into play ‘Why do we need such a world if there’s no Russia in it?’.”

And to justify the use of nuclear weapons to the Russian public in case of threat from the US and other countries, he added: “And look here at Point 17 of the decree on the Foundations of Russia’s State Policy in the Area of Nuclear Deterrence.”

Citing the document, he added: “We will use our strategic nuclear forces ‘when the very existence of the state is put under threat’.

BBC correspondent Francis Scarr posted the extract on Twitter with the caption: “Suitably refreshed by his holiday in Dubai, Russian state TV’s Dmitry Kiselyov last night once again warned of a nuclear strike, this time against the US rather than the UK.

“Unlike last week, there were regrettably no sinister animations”.

Mr Scarr referred to a previous extract from the same Russian TV channel, which saw Russian propagandist Dmitry Kiselyov using his Sunday night show to threaten the UK with the potential use of “an underwater Poseidon nuclear bomb” by Russia “to plunge Britain into the depths of the sea”.

The video, broadcast live on Russian TV, also showed detailed pictures of the potential nuclear attack from Russia, which seems to not be present in the current video threat against the US.

Kiselyov justified the threats by falsely claiming that PM Boris Johnson has previously threatened to use nuclear weapons to destroy Russia.

The threats are instead believed to be the consequence of the UK’s continual military and financial support provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion.
