The mum of a two-year-old who was allegedly murdered by his own babysitter has revealed to a court in Queensland, Australia the "red flags" she noticed before his death.

Lisa Rose Halcrow, 41, was charged last year in relation to the death of sweet Connor Horan.

She was babysitting Connor when he was raced to hospital with serious head and internal injuries reports abc.au.

The tot died the day after, on August 19, 2018.

Cops’ investigations led to Lisa being charged with murder and grievous bodily harm.

Now, tragic Connor’s mum, Emily, has revealed the "red flags" in the build-up to her son’s death.

"Lisa was pushy, always wanting to have Connor," she said.

"He never seemed to settle down at Lisa's. He would crack it if I said her name. He didn't seem to be himself.

"I thought he wasn't being a typical two-year-old."

At one point before the tragedy, Emily and Lisa had a huge row when Emily was at a poker game and had left Connor in the safe care of a pal.

Lisa had turned up "p**s drunk" to the pal’s house and demanded to have Connor.

She then accused Emily of not spending enough time with her son.

It wasn’t the only argument the pair had, and they clashed over how Connor’s security blanket was affecting the toddler’s speech development.

The court also heard how Lisa had been "going around Warwick telling people (she) was Connor's second mother".

Emily told the judge: "She was meant to be the babysitter, not replace me."

But a friend of Lisa’s, Michael Turner, said Lisa was always worrying about Connor.

"Lisa wanted Connor in her life to fill something in her life that was missing.

"She was a scared little mouse, she was fretting about whether Connor was ok,” he said.

Michael also claimed that Lisa felt guilty for Connor’s death and said she needed to be punished as she was there at the time the tragedy occurred.

Lisa has yet to enter a plea and the hearing continues.
