Mum nearly faints at finding daughter, 6, is reincarnation of famed opera singer
A dumbfounded mum has told of the moment she almost fainted after her six-year-old daughter revealed she had been reincarnated and was a famous opera singer in her past life.
Dorothy Angelica astonished her mother when she gave precise details of the life as her "previous self" Lily Pons, including her death from cancer in the 1970s.
Mum Kira Angelica shared her little girl's claims with Dr Walter Semkiw – a California-based physician and reincarnation researcher – and also divulged recollections of an eerie vision she had herself when eight months pregnant with Dorothy.

Kira saw an apparition of a smiling young girl in a plaid dress having heard a voice calling: "Mummy, Mummy."
The girl then faded away but after Dorothy was born and grew older, Kira noted that her daughter closely resembled the ghost-like image she had witnessed, as well as Lily Pons.
From a very young age, Dorothy's singing pitch was perfect and Kira says she also carried a "magnetic stage presence" when she performed in a musical production at the age of three.
By the time Dorothy was six years old, Kira told her about the vision and her daughter decided to meditate in an attempt to find out who that girl might be in a past life.
"Dorothy started rattling off details of a possible life," Dr Semkiw said. "Kira grabbed a notebook and documented Dorothy’s statements over time.
"She thought that her daughter was describing imaginary things, but she suddenly opened her eyes and said: 'Mum, I know who I used to be in a past life. Her name was something like Lizy or Lily, but her REAL name was Alice Pons.'"
After a Google search, Kira learned all about Lily Pons' life as the New York Metropolitan Opera's star soprano, along with her 1930s Hollywood career and transition to television in the 1950s.
When she then read that the French-born singer's birth name was Alice Pons, Kira "almost fainted" and was further stunned as Dorothy revealed more details about Lily, including her ability to speak several languages and play the piano.
She also knew that Lily became a professional singer at the age of 22, whilst having a love for wild cats and birdsong.

Probably most spookily, Dorothy developed abdominal pains, before announcing one day that Lily Pons "died from a bad stomach ache".
She had, indeed, succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 1976, with Dr Semkiw writing: "Upon reading this, Kira’s hair stood on end!"
He believes the case carries all the hallmarks of a true case of reincarnation with Dorothy and Lily Pons having similar facial features.
"The singing and acting talent of Alice Pons is being replicated in the persona of Dorothy Angelica," he added.
Dr Semkiw, who has studied thousands of potential reincarnation cases, also reckons Kira's vision was an "announcing dream" – a phenomenon first identified by pioneering reincarnation researcher Prof Ian Stevenson, who believed there was evidence souls send dreams to families they are about to incarnate into.
