In a series of harrowing 999 calls, a distraught mother can be heard screaming "I'm going to die" as she was forced to wait over an hour for an ambulance.
Bina Patel's son, Akshay Patel, 28, had made six calls to the emergency services for help during his mother's tragic final moments.
In the newly released tapes, Akshay can be heard telling ambulance call handlers that his mother is "struggling" to breath after she woke up in the early hours of the night screaming his name, The Mirror reports.
The situation was described as critical in the calls that followed, which was where he was told that he may have to wait up to "one and a half hours" due to the ambulance service being "busy".
Akshay, from Ashton-Under-Lyne, Lancs, can then be heard explaining that his 56-year-old mum's mouth has "gone all-white" as he continues to pleas for quicker assistance.
In a tragic turn, the heartbroken son can be heard furiously venting his anger that an ambulance didn't arrive in time to save his mother – who had collapsed and become unresponsive.
The 56-year-old suffered a blockage in her heart, causing a stroke and then a heart attack which sadly killed her.
Akshay tells call handlers: "I rang an hour ago for an ambulance as she had difficulty breathing, and now she's dead. She's f**king dead.
"My mum's dead, thank you for the ambulance. Appreciate it."
Four months on from the tragedy, Akshay is hoping to meet with health secretary Sajid Javid to discuss how the NHS could be improved to save more lives.
He said: "The [ambulance] crew that came, the people that work for the organisation, they do an amazing job.
"But the overall structure, the way it's been set up, and the way the money kind of trickles down is wrong."
Adding: "Once we were clapping for the NHS throughout Covid. Now, me personally, can I clap for it? Can I trust them? No, I can't."
In the phone calls, Bina can be heard screaming in the background: "Hurry up, I'm dying!"

Recalling the events of that terrible night, he said: "I looked at my mum, and I couldn't tell her, "Mum, it's going to be an hour and a half."
"She couldn't stand up. She was falling back on the bed to the point where I was holding her upright to make sure she didn't fall again.
"She was just panicking and panicking for help."
The 28-year-old claims that he doesn't believe the first four of his phone calls to the emergency services were "taken seriously".
He said: "Between 2:31 am and 3:17 am, they just didn't take the calls seriously, from what I've gathered.

"It was on the sixth call, when she stopped breathing – that's when an ambulance was dispatched."
The heartbroken son said he is "going to make sure" that Sajid Javid listens to the phone calls.
"I will tell him someone needs to be put accountable for her death," he said.
"I want him to get those people to me, for them to give me a personal apology and tell me what they're going to change."
