Missing drunk man lost in woods ends up helping search party look for himself
A missing drunk man was found after joining the search party that was out looking for him.
Beyhan Mutlu, 50, had been drinking with mates in the rural neighbourhood of Cayyaka, near the city of İnegöl in Turkey, before wandering off into the woods and never coming back.
His pals informed the police, who called in search and rescue teams from the wider Bursa region in an effort to help locate the missing man, LadBible reports.
Many local residents joined the search party in the hope of finding the 50-year-old.
According to local news outlet, NTV, the search teams were calling out Mutlu’s name repeatedly until someone replied: “Who are we looking for? I am here”.
That man ended up being Mutlu, but it is still unclear how he was not aware that his friends had reported him missing, nor how nobody from the search party recognised him.
Police ended up escorting him home, before writing up a report of the events that transpired.
It comes after a man who ‘only went out for a beer’ ended up getting lost in the Thai jungle for four days.
Franciscus Johannes van Rossum, 78, had drunk five beers before jumping on his motorbike and attempting to head home in Thailand’s Phetchaburi province on August 31.

Unfortunately for him, he took a wrong turn in the rain and got lost in the Khong Ta Bang forest.
The storm had affected the 78-year-old’s phone signal, but he managed to make two calls to his wife – one on September 1 and one on September 2 – saying he was lost in the forest but didn’t know his exact coordinates and a storm had hit.
Locals eventually spotted his motorcycle and managed to find him nearby on September 3.
