Meghan Markle to ‘have baby within weeks’ as due date creeps closer
Meghan Markle is due to give birth "within weeks", according to reports.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan announced they were expecting another baby on Valentine's Day.
In a sweet announcement, a spokesperson for the 36-year-old Duke and 39-year-old Duchess of Sussex shared the happy news in February when they said: “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”
During their bombshell chat with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year, the happy couple also confirmed they're having a little girl.
In keeping with royal tradition, they didn't share their due date.
However, it's now believed the tot will arrive in June meaning the little one could be born "within weeks", the Telegraph reports.
Following the sweet announcement, a source is reported to have told US Weekly that t he couple feel "ecstatic" to be expecting their second child after their June 2020 miscarriage.
They said: "Harry and Meghan have always wanted a couple of kids – a little brother or sister for Archie, and they’re excitedly planning for the arrival of their bundle of joy.
"It’s a dream come true. … Meghan fell pregnant again toward the end of last year. The baby is due at the end of spring."
Prince Harry on 'increasingly dicey ground' after months of bashing Royal Family
Spring is due to officially end on June 21 this year.
Speaking from the garden of her home in Montecito, California, on May 9 – in her first television appearance since the Oprah Winfrey interview in a pre-recorded message for Vax Live – the Duchess described her pregnancy as "a feeling of joy we share with millions of other families around the world."
"When we think of her, we think of all the young women and girls around the globe who must be given the ability and support to lead us forward."
Harry and Meghan's pregnancy announcement contained a sweet nod to Princess Diana, who announced she was expecting Prince Harry on Valentine's Day 37 years ago.
It is unlikely the new baby will have much of a royal upbringing as Meghan and Harry stepped back from his official duties last year.
Last November, Meghan told of her heartbreaking miscarriage in a bid to encourage others to do the same and raise awareness of those who are grieving.
In an opinion piece titled The Losses We Share for the New York Times, the Duchess revealed that she had lost her unborn, second child in July.
She described the experience as "an almost unbearable grief experienced by many but talked about by few".
Prince Harry's TV director 'admires' him and can't understand 'mean-spirited' trolls
It has been suggested that Harry and Meghan's baby number two will be the last for the couple as Harry previously stated he wanted to keep his family small for the sake of the environment.
In the September 2019 issue of British Vogue, which was guest-edited by Meghan, Harry spoke to Jane Goodall about climate change and the impact of families on the world.
Ms Goodall suggested the Prince may not want to have "too many" children – with the Royal commenting he and Meghan would have "two maximum".
