Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton making up is ‘wishful thinking’ biographer says
The idea that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton may reconcile in the future is "wishful thinking", a royal biographer claims.
There had long been rumours of a "royal rift" even before Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle announced on January 8 last year that they would step back from senior positions within the Firm following talks at Sandringham with Prince Charles, Prince William, and the Queen.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have since relocated with their son, Archie, to California, where they have since been joined by newborn daughter Lilibet.
And members of the Royal Family are said to have been upset at Prince Harry and Meghan's recent claims against the Firm during media appearances they have made this year.
They made a series of bombshell claims about the royal family during their chat with the US TV legend, including allegations that Kate Middleton made her new sister-in-law Meghan cry, as well as revelations that the Duchess of Sussex had suicidal thoughts and that there were concerns within the Palace about "how dark" their baby would be.
And now Omid Scobie, co-author of Finding Freedom, has said any thoughts that William and Harry's wives may make up is "wishful thinking".

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he said: "I think it's wishful thinking when we see people say that Meghan and Kate are going to work on a Netflix project together or they're talking on the phone.
"I even read a story about how they're Zooming whilst making cakes or something, quite recently."

He added: "Unfortunately, they follow the lead set by the brothers. The brothers aren't talking, there really isn't much communication between either side altogether.
"Although there was never really a feud between the duchesses, there was some distance. They were never able to get as close as possible."
Mr Scobie added that Harry and Meghan had "wanted to do just as much as the Cambridges" while they were working royals, but suggested they may have been blocked from doing so.

He said: "[Harry and Meghan] wanted to do just as much as the Cambridges. They wanted to be just as front and centre as William and Kate were and, of course, public appetite was there for it, but the institution is very quick to remind you that you are in that position.
"Harry is number six in line to the throne and must always remember that as he carries out that work. It means that he can never overshadow his brother."
Daily Star has approached representatives of Harry and Meghan and William and Kate for comment.
