Meghan and Harry’s balcony exclusion to ‘stop Prince Andrew appearance’ – expert

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been caught up in the row over whether Prince Andrew will appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, an expert has claimed.

With Harry and Meghan set to return to the UK with their children Archie and Lilibet this weekend, there has been speculation over whether the couple will make an appearance on the royal balcony.

The Queen appeared to have put these rumours to rest when Buckingham Palace announced that only “working royals” would be present at the event, which is expected to take place on Thursday (June 2).

Now, speaking to Kay Burley on Sky News, royal expert Angela Levin has claimed that the Sussexes’ reported exclusion from the balcony may have been linked to public angst about Andrew also appearing.

Responding to Kay’s question about whether the public will see Harry and Meghan on the balcony, Angela replied: “No, the Queen has been firm about that.

“The way she’s done it is to say [that] if you’re not a working royal, you can’t be on it.

“And that’s a way of stopping Prince Andrew from going out because I think there will be quite a feeling of anger amongst us all at his doing.”

And, reacting to the exclusion, one royal commentator claimed that Prince Harry would find watching the Jubilee balcony moment "deeply upsetting" as it spells out the future of the Royal Family.

Earlier this year, Andrew reached a settlement with his accuser Virginia Giuffre after she launched a civil sex case against the prince.

Prince Andrew has consistently denied the claims made against him.

Despite his damaged public reputation, the Queen has remained close to her second-eldest son, reportedly visiting her at Windsor Castle and even accompanying his mother into Westminster Abbey for a memorial service remembering the life of Prince Philip.

This comes after another royal expert claimed that Meghan’s recent appearances at Prince Harry’s polo events in the US is a sign that “all’s not well” for the ex-royals as they seek new sources of income.
