Man ‘nearly decapitated co-worker with machete and dumped body in trunk of car’
A man is accused of nearly 'decapitating' his co-worker with a large machete before dumping his body in the trunk of a car.
Martin O Molina was charged with first-degree murder after the death of Felix Villalobos-Calderon.
The 21-year-old allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times with deep cuts, including one on his neck that 'nearly decapitated' him, prosecutor Assistant State Attorney Kevin DeBoni said.
42-year-old Felix was alone in the body shop working on his Toyota RAV4 SUV, which was on a lift when Molina arrived at 10.30am.
The shop's video cameras had their imaging recording facilities turned off so Felix could use the outlet for something else.
However, the audio surveillance was still working, writes the Chicago Tribune.
According to DeBoni, Felix pleaded in Spanish for Molina to "stop messing around" and told him to "calm down".
He then said "I'll leave" before several loud thumping noises could be heard.
The first worker to arrive saw Molina covered in blood, the Attorney added.
They jokingly asked if he had killed someone and Molina replied he had been in a fight, before asking the co-worker to get his car and move it to the garage door at the shop.
The colleague agreed but instead went to his own car and reported a fight at the shop to Chicago police.

When officers arrived they opened the Cadillac's trunk and found the body.
A 'large machete' and another knife were discovered in a nearby alley and Molina was arrested.
A shovel was also found by police, the newspaper reported.
Cook County Judge Susana L Ortiz ordered Molina to be held without bail during a court hearing.
