Man in his 30s raped in London park as police launch hunt for two men
Cops are hunting two men after a man was raped in woodland at Clapham Common.
The victim, in his early 30s, was ambushed near a wooded area on the common in south west London.
Police said two men are believed to have been present during the horror attack which happened on June 30, but was only reported to them this week.
A Met Police spokesman said the attack happened when it was dark and no further information about the men they are looking for is available.
But the force is appealing for witnesses in the area to come forward with information in a bid to track down the men.
Detective Sergeant Ross Burrell said: “We are determined to identify the person or persons responsible for this horrific crime and seek justice for the victim.
“A significant period of time has passed since the attack occurred but we still think there will be people out there with information that could help.
“We want to hear from anyone who was out on the Common that night and saw or heard anything suspicious.
"We want to hear from anyone who has seen two men in the area, either before or after this incident, acting suspiciously or doing anything which has raised concerns.
“It does not matter why you were in the area. You can be assured that officers will make no judgements and will treat any information you provide sensitively.
"Your information, no matter how small, could be vital. Please make that call.”
The force confirmed the attack is being treated as an "isolated incident" but are keeping an open mind.
Anyone with information should call 101, providing the crime reference Cad 7542/17Aug.
