King’s time not dominated by making Harry and Meghan ‘pay for perceived sins’
Six weeks from today, King Charles III will embark on what will arguably be the most important day of his life.
While most people assume the new Monarch will be thinking of ways to make the Sussexes pay for their perceived sins, Honey Nine's royal columnist Victoria Arbiter thinks otherwise.
She said that various muckrakers have opted to focus on speculation and the ways in which the King is apparently using the coronation to rain on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's parade following their move to the States.

The King has been accused of excluding the couple's children in favour of William and Kate's, and he's been blasted for not yet inviting them despite their tender age.
But Victoria hit back at these claims as she said: "The coronation is not a private, family function in which egos and personal grievances should be visibly indulged.
"It is an ancient state occasion in which the reigning British monarch is invested with regal power."
She added: "For that reason alone, it would be foolish to believe he's deliberately seeking to ostracise his second-born son.
"Busy preparing to take his coronation oath before God, his every waking hour is currently dominated by constitutional demands as opposed to how to make the Sussexes pay for their perceived sins.
"Unlike other royal occasions, in which allowances can be made, the coronation is not one in which individual whims can be entertained.

"If the pair do decide to fly to the UK, the King will undoubtedly welcome them with open arms, but that doesn't mean he'll acquiesce to their litany of conditions."
According to a recent article in the Times, all three of the Prince and Princess of Wales's children are "expected to take part in the King's coronation procession at Westminster Abbey."
The decision for them to be included won't have been reached with ease and it's entirely possible plans may still change.

Assuming they are in attendance, however, it'll be due to their place in the line of succession and not because their grandfather likes them best.
Victoria said that it's worth noting in January 2020, Harry and Meghan chose to leave the 1000-year-old institution of monarchy.
In doing so, they voluntarily gave up the privileges it affords and it's worth remembering that the King "owes them nothing beyond the unconditional love of a father who misses his son."
