Kate Middleton wore an outfit that evoked memories of her wedding to remind people there are "good times ahead" claims a fashion expert.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 39, was joined by husband Prince William, 38, at Westminster Abbey today where they visited a pop-up vaccination clinic as the UK observed a national day of reflection to mark the first anniversary of the country entering lockdown.
Mum-of-three Kate wore an elegant cream coloured dress coat – and according to Emily Cronin, senior fashion editor at The Telegraph, it was carefully planned out to bolster the nation's spirits.
She wrote: "Tuesday’s look… wouldn’t be out of place on the balcony of Buckingham Palace or in the Royal Enclosure at Royal Ascot (just add a hat).
"It also, inescapably and almost certainly not accidentally, evoked the memory of another of Kate’s appearances at Westminster Abbey: her April 2011 wedding to Prince William.
"Could the coat be a nod to the couple’s 10th anniversary next month?
"Only Kate can know for sure. But using an official appearance on a national day of reflection to subtly remind Britons (and the world) of happier, simpler times, both for the UK (and the world, and the royal family), seems like just the masterstroke we’ve come to expect from Kate and her carefully considered outfits.

"It was reflective, forward-looking and dignified: exactly what the day called for."
As well as meeting the NHS heroes who have used the iconic Christian hub as a place to dish out life-saving vaccines to Londoners, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took time for a private moment of reflection, lighting a candle and laying a bunch of daffodils in memory of those who have passed away over the last 12 months.
