I-25 in Loveland closed Sunday after tanker spill
A stretch of Interstate 25 in Loveland remained closed in both directions Sunday morning after a tanker truck crashed and spilled chemicals on the highway, prompting an extensive hazmat cleanup.
The road was still closed at 9:30 a.m. between exit 255 for Colorado Highway 402 (Johnstown) and exit 257 for U.S. Highway 34 (Loveland), and there is no estimated time for the highway to be reopened, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The intestate has been shut down for more than 24 hours after the tanker rolled over sometime before 4 a.m. Saturday. Officials warned drivers to expect long delays on alternate routes in the area Sunday.

Drivers can use U.S. Highway 287 or 85 to detour around the closed stretch. Colorado State Patrol tweeted Saturday that drivers headed north on I-25 should get off the interstate south of exit 250. Drivers headed south will want to head off I-25 north of exit 262 to avoid severe delays.
