House near Man Utd training ground up for sale – and it comes with its own bar

A stunning house near the legendary Manchester United training ground is now up for sale.

The Salford property, which has a bar, dancing room and a heated indoor swimming pool, is currently on the market for £750,000.

The semi-detached home comes with six spacious bedrooms, four bathrooms, three large reception rooms, a gym, snooker room, sauna and a large sun terrace.

And with high brick walls surrounding the property and an enormous garden that none of the neighbours can see into, it offers plenty of privacy.

This huge home could tempt a Manchester United mega fan, as it is less than a mile away from the side's legendary training ground The Cliff.

According to the Rightmove listing, it is a "breath-taking six bed luxury family home" that is surrounded by "other highly desirable properties".

Estate agents Purplebricks are now urging anyone who is interested to book a viewing as soon as possible, as they believe someone will snap up the sought-after property very soon.

The United first team moved away from The Cliff in 2000 and set up a state-of-the-art training facility in Carrington, which is now called the Aon Training Complex.

But in April 2019, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tried to inspire his players, after a dismal run, by taking them back to the training ground where Sir Alex Ferguson built his great sides of 1994 and 1999.

The ground is still home to the Manchester United women's team and used by United's academy.

Deborah Winter said her parents John and Elsie Potts, who were both huge Red Devils fans, bought the property in Lower Broughton Road in 1960.

The couple have passed away, but Deborah said the family have fond memories of the house and trips to The Cliff.

She told Manchester Evening News that they would watch the players train on a regular basis and watch friendly matches.

"We were all Manchester United fans," she said.

""Back then you could just go into the Cliff training ground and see the ‘Busby babes’ and talk to them and get autographs.”

She said the family always enjoyed seeing Sir Matt Busby, who would greet them with "a smile and a wave" when he turned up for training.

She added: "“Then came George Best, Bobby Charlton, Nobby Stiles and so on, and we could watch all of them training from the windows of our home.

“Then later you had Cantona and Beckham et al. And of course, the security then was a different matter compared to my childhood and teens – security was very tight then.”

Solskjaer's side take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, in the final quarter of the FA Cup at today (March 21).
