Horror moment dad gunned down by assassin in front of baby daughter
Brazil: Nine killed in clash between police and gangs
The brutal murder of a dad in the presence of his baby daughter has been captured by CCTV video.
The footage shows 46-year-old lawyer André Ribeiro being gunned down in cold blood by his killer, seconds after handing his baby girl to a woman wearing a red dress.
In the harrowing video, the lawyer is seen getting out of his car, which is parked outside a building in Permambuco, Brazil.
The dad walks round to the back door of the vehicle, where he is handed his young daughter who is wearing a pink dress with a white bow in her hair.
A woman in a red dress, thought to be his partner or the girl’s nanny, then emerges from the back of the car, while the lawyer gently cuddles his baby.

At which point, a man wearing a T-shirt and baseball cap suddenly appears, pointing a handgun towards Mr Ribeiro.
Pausing for a brief moment, the lawyer calmly turns his back on the assassin and hands his daughter to the woman before kneeling on the ground.
The killer then fires five bullets into Mr Riberio at point blank range, before fleeing the crime scene.
The woman and the baby did not have time to retreat to a safe distance before the ruthless execution-style murder.
No motive for the killing, which took place in 2018, has ever been established by the police.
However officers believe it was a contract killing as no money was stolen, therefore ruling out robbery as a cause.

Deadly violence remains a serious problem in Brazil, according to the latest crime statistics.
Recent data shows that Brazil recorded 40,824 homicides in 2022 — an average of 111 violent deaths per day.
This is high, the equivalent of one out of every five homicides in the world occurring in Brazil.
But it is also a one percent decrease from the previous year, and the lowest number in the historical series dating back to 2007.
One of the reasons for the decrease is believed to be a cooling off of the war between drug gangs that has raged in Brazil’s urban peripheries since the 1980s, particularly in the largest cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
