Heidi Broussard’s ‘best friend’ who ‘faked a pregnancy’ is charged after missing mom is found dead – but baby survives – The Sun
A WOMAN believed to be best friends with Heidi Broussard faces kidnapping charges after allegedly plotting to kill the mom and steal her baby.
Cops believe Magen Rose Fieramusca was close with the mom whose body was found in a car trunk today, police told the Austin American-Statesman.
She allegedly plotted to kidnap Heidi's one-month-old daughter Margot Carey before the baby was born, police said.
Fieramusca even pretended she was pregnant at the same time as Heidi, authorities told the newspaper.
KVUE reports that she was with Heidi while she was giving birth to Margot in November.
The slain mom referred to her alleged killer as her "best friend" in a 2013 Facebook post.
"Can't wait to spend time with my best friend Maygen Humphrey tomorrow!" wrote Heidi.
"Gonna look at options for my baby shower invites!"
The 33-year-old has gone by Magen Fieramusca, Maygen Humphrey, and also Magen Humphrey, Heavy.com reports.
Her current surname appears to be from a former marriage, according to the website.
Fieramusca's LinkedIn account lists her as "Maygen Humphries" and says she's worked as a wedding planner for a wedding venue in Texas since January 2012.
Austin police arrested Fieramusca overnight on charges of kidnapping and tampering with a corpse, cops told the Statesman.
She's being held in Harris County Jail on a $600,000 bond.
This isn't her first brush with the law – the Texas woman was arrested and bailed out of jail in 2018 for allegedly stealing $5,000 from her former employer, according to documents obtained by Heavy.com.
The dramatic search for Heidi came to a tragic end early Friday morning when detectives reportedly found her body inside a car at Fieramusca's home in Houston.
Little Margot was found alive at home in good health and was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
Detectives were able to find Fieramusca's car in Austin around the same time Heidi disappeared, law enforcement sources said.
The medical examiner's office confirmed with KHOU that a body was removed from a vehicle located on a property in Houston.
Police initially went to her home to investigate a car in the backyard, cops told KTRK.
Authorities at the Austin Police Department didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from Sun Online.
The 33-year-old mom disappeared without a trace last Thursday morning in Austin, Texas.
She left behind her car and all her belongings before dropping her son off at Cowan Elementary School at 7.30am, according to a missing persons report.
