‘Heartsick’ King Charles will finally answer ‘serious doubts’ at coronation
King Charles III finally has a date for his coronation, and is set to answer "serious doubts" as he officially ascends the throne.
Charles' celebration will take place on May 6 of next year, nearly eight months after he came to power following the death of his mum, Queen Elizabeth II – and journalist and royal expert Kinsey Schofield said the "humbled" monarch would have mixed feelings on the momentous day.
Schofield told the Daily Star: "I think King Charles will feel humbled and honored to have the ability to serve his country on the day of his coronation.

"I do believe he will be heartsick for his mother and father as they were such an important part of his life. It must hurt to know that you have to lose something so significant to you for your job to begin."
Schofield added that while the day would be bittersweet, the King would feel "a sense of relief" at ascending the throne after his long stint as the Prince of Wales was marked by controversy.
"He will likely also feel a sense of relief. He struggled to get to this place and there were serious doubts that he would make it to the throne – especially with Camilla by his side.

"There must be a great sense of relief and peace that washes over him at that moment."
Buckingham Palace announced the date of Charles' coronation on Tuesday evening (October 11) after weeks of speculation.
The King will make a sacred oath to serve his country, while Queen Consort Camilla will also be crowned.
The palace said: Making the announcement, the Palace said: "Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce that the coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday, May 6 2023.
"The coronation ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

"The ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside the Queen Consort.
"The coronation will reflect the monarch's role today and look towards the future, while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry."
The event is set to be a more modest version of his mother's nearly 70 years ago, with 6000 fewer attendees – only 2000 people are expected to make the guest list, including members of the royal family and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
However the chosen date for the coronation is controversial as it falls on a Saturday and Brits are not expected to get a Bank Holiday to celebrate.
The day is also expected to coincide with football matches such as West Ham v Manchester United, Newcastle v Arsenal, and Liverpool v Brentford.
