Hamas launch massive rocket barrage on Israeli city as they ready to 'post sick vids of hostages begging for lives’ | The Sun
HAMAS are hammering the Israeli city of Ashkelon with rockets as fears mount that the terror group is planning to share sickening footage of Israeli hostages.
The militants' deadline for residents to get out of the port city north of the Gaza Strip by 5pm has passed and explosions are lighting up the sky.
He posted on Telegram: "In response to the enemy’s crime of displacing our people and forcing them to flee their homes in several areas of the Gaza Strip, we give the residents of the occupied city of Ashkelon a deadline to leave before 5pm."
Footage shows a large number of missiles being launched from Gaza as it gets closer to the 5pm deadline.
The warning comes amid fears Hamas are preparing to release disturbing videos of hostages begging for their lives.
Israeli parents of schoolchildren have been warned to remove apps like TikTok and Instagram to shield their children from any graphic content.

It comes as Israel earlier urged civilians in Gaza to flee south to Egypt ahead of an all-out ground assault as the number of casualties on both sides reached over 3,000.
The Israeli army has massed tanks, artillery and thousands of elite commandos ready for a ground invasion.
On Monday morning, Israel imposed a "complete siege" on the area – including a sweeping ban on food and fuel moving into Gaza and an immediate cut-off of the water supply.
"There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed," Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said.
"We are fighting human animals and we act accordingly."
It has also reportedly begun laying mines as it blockades the Gaza Strip, cutting off food, water and electricity.
Following Hamas's threat to execute some of the 150 civilian hostages,Israel unleashed a barrage of airstrikes on the Gaza Strip overnight- the worst in the 75-year history of its conflict with Palestine.
Israeli warplanes pounded downtown Gaza as the country's PM vowed retaliation against the terror group.
Benjamin Netanyahu dubbed Hamas as worse than ISIS in a damning speech where he vowed to destroy them.
Netanyahu raged: "Children were executed and entire families were exterminated by Arab Terrorists.
"There were atrocities that I will not describe here. Hamas is ISIS and we will destroy it as the world defeated ISIS."
Fireballs repeatedly lit up Gaza City before dawn this morning as explosions sounded and sirens wailed.
Israel's military said it has restored control full control over the border adding that it had recovered the bodies of around 1,500 Hamas fighters.
It has reportedly threatened Egypt with striking any lorry carrying aid to Gaza through the Rafah crossing.
An Israeli airstrike killed two senior Hamas officials in Gaza, an official said.
Jawad Abu Shammala and Zakaria Abu Maamar were reportedly killed in an air strike in Khan Younis last night.
Israeli retaliatory air strikes against the Hamas militant group struck residential buildings and schools across the Gaza Strip, UN Human Rights chief Volker Turk said on Tuesday, adding that "sieges" were illegal under international law.
Turk also condemned "horrifying mass killings by members of Palestinian armed groups" and said the militants' abduction of hostages was also forbidden under international law.
Thousands have lost their lives in the bloody war while entire neighbourhoods in Gaza have been reduced to rubble.
Over 3,000 people in Israel and Gaza have been killed since the Palestinian militant group stormed the border on Saturday and massacred hundreds in a surprise attack on Saturday.
Among the victims, there are three Brits while seven more remain missing.
Corporal Nathanel Young, 20, who was serving in the Israeli Defence Forces, was confirmed dead on Saturday.
And Daniel Darlington, a UK photographer, was also killed after attending the musical festival that Hamas stormed.
The conflict is only expected to escalate with Israel amassing 300,000 reserve troops in the south ahead of the planned invasion.
The US is also moving several warships – including USS Gerald Ford – and aircraft to the Mediterranean after Joe Biden pledged Washington's "rock solid" support to Tel Aviv.
The US government confirmed 11 Americans have also been killed in Israel.
Hamas terrorists launched an all-out attack on Israel from land, air and sea with 5,000 rockets fired during the early hours of Saturday morning.
