Good Morning Britain viewers are outraged as ‘disrespectful prat’ in sunglasses and a wig ‘gate-crashes’ news report on plans for Prince Philip’s funeral to advertise his ‘disco’ website
- ITV’S royal editor was being filmed for a live segment when the man appeared
- Viewers fumed online as the man waved around a placard calling for followers
- He was called ‘disrespectful’ for interrupting piece about Prince Philip’s funeral
Viewers of Good Morning Britain were left seething when a man holding a sign ‘gate-crashed’ a live piece to camera about Prince Philip’s funeral.
The chancer, who wore sunglasses and a wig, was seen holding a placard calling on people to follow an online account outside Windsor Castle.
His appearance came as ITV’s royal editor Chris Ship discussed the identities of the 30 people attending the Duke of Edinburgh’s tomorrow.
Several viewers fumed at his attempt to interrupt the show and branded him a ‘disrespectful prat’.
It is not clear who the man is and his makeshift placard is not fully visible in the footage but the words ‘disco’ and ‘follow me’ can be read on the cardboard sign.
The man, wearing an afro wig and sunglasses, could be seen holding a sign in the background of the live piece to camera
One said on Twitter: ‘Who’s the disrespectful wig wearing prat advertising his disco thing behind the reporter on @GMB whilst they discuss #HRHPrincePhilip funeral plans and his life?’
Another raged: ‘Who is that standing behind him trying to interrupt?
‘Have some respect!’
Another asked if it was a minor character from the Simpsons trying to get on the telly.
He asked: ‘Was that disco Stu in Windsor? #GMB?
It comes as it was revealed William and Harry will not walk shoulder to shoulder behind their grandfather’s coffin when he is laid to rest tomorrow.
The minute-by-minute arrangements for Prince Philip’s funeral on Saturday have been revealed today and are shown above, starting at 11am and finishing just after 3pm
The estranged brothers are both in the small party of close family members who will follow the Duke of Edinburgh’s body.
But they will be separated by their cousin, Peter Phillips. And when the coffin is carried into St George’s Chapel in Windsor, William will move ahead of his younger brother as they take their seats separately.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: ‘This is a funeral [and] we will not be drawn into those perceptions of drama. The arrangements have been agreed and reflect Her Majesty’s wishes.’
It had been hoped the loss of their beloved grandfather, who both men loved deeply, might start the process of rapprochement.
Tomorrow is likely to be particularly difficult for the brothers as it will evoke memories of having to walk behind their mother’s coffin when they were just 15 and 13.
