Former WWE star Al Snow spots boy drowning and swims out in riptide to save him
Ex-WWE star Al Snow heroically jumped into the ocean and saved a drowning boy.
Snow, 58, was on Santa Rosa Beach in Florida when he heard screaming while swimming in the sea Thursday, September 9, TMZ Sports revealed.
The boy was found drowning as a strong riptide pulled him into deeper waters.
Al made the decision that the boy would not be able to fight against the strong waters and took it upon himself to save his life.
A lifeguard was present at the beach but the commotion happened in such a short matter of time that the former WWE star had made the decision to swim to the boy before the lifeguard was alerted.
He told TMZ: "I made it, thank God.
"And, I caught him just by the arm just as a wave started to pull him even further out.
"If I hadn't have grabbed him, I think he'd have probably went out to sea. That would have been it."
During the rescue, a wave took both the boy and Al under and it seemed like the pair had got into trouble.
Al was able to save the boy and he is now being applauded as a hero or his bravery.
During the rescue, he was reminded of the old wrestler Shad Gaspard, who died out in the Pacific Ocean last year.
Dad tortured son, 10, with taser dog collar and forced him to eat faeces
Al kept the boy above water and out of danger long enough for the lifeguard to get out to the scene and take the boy back to safety.
He said: "I made my way back across to my friend and we went up on the beach and I felt like I was about to collapse. I was exhausted."
Both the wrestler and the boy were unscathed by the incident and Snow received gratitude from the boy's mother and worldwide.
