The relatives of Anthony Shingler wants answers after he was left bedbound and "fighting for his life" on a hospital ventilator.
He had his first dose of the coronavirus AstraZeneca jab three months ago and has since been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), a rare and serious condition that affects the nerves.
Devastated wife Nicola told StokeonTrentLive: "I'm adamant it was the vaccine, he was fine until he had it.
"It's a nightmare to watch him. I can't stand seeing my husband in so much pain every day.
"He is still getting texts from the NHS to go for a second jab and he is lying in an NHS hospital paralysed. This is how impersonal it is. It’s wrong on all levels."
Nicola, of Stoke-on-Trent, said her husband's troubles began shortly after he received the jab in early March.
She added: "(After the vaccine) he had mild symptoms for a few days, a muddy head and his legs were aching. He just went to bed."

Later on Anthony symptoms worsened to numbness from the hips down and pins and needles until eventually he could not breathe and had to be admitted to hospital to be hooked up to a ventilator.
Nicola, 48, said: "The ambulance came and he was admitted to neurology. The critical care said he had to go on a ventilator because it was taking his lungs, he couldn't breathe.
"That’s when we were told it was GBS. The first four to six weeks were horrendous.

"He’s been having hallucinations and infections. They tried to get him off the ventilator with no joy. He will never come home if he can’t get off.

She said: "My husband has been taken out of work and he's our main earner, we’ve had no support financially.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is monitoring all potential side effects reported to them, including Guillain-Barré Syndrome.
Dr June Raine, MHRA chief executive, said: "Over 72 million doses of vaccines against COVID-19 have now been administered in the UK, saving thousands of lives through the biggest vaccination programme that has ever taken place in this country.
"No effective medicine or vaccine is without risk. Our advice remains that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risks in the majority of people.
"We ask anyone who suspects they have experienced a side effect linked with their COVID-19 vaccine to report it to the Coronavirus Yellow Card website."
