Ex-Miss Bumbum model forced to pay church that ‘abducted and brainwashed’ her
A former Miss Bumbum contestant has lost her lawsuit against the church she claimed "abducted" and "brainwashed" her.
Brazilian model Andressa Urach, 35, joined the controversial Universal Church of the Kingdom of God in 2015.
In November 2020 she filed the lawsuit, claiming she was manipulated and trying to claim back the BR$2million (£318,000) she donated to the church.

Urach claimed she was "deceived by the promises of a spiritual solution" into donating, leading to "the unbridled loss of her assets".
The OnlyFans star had asked Universal Church to pay her a BR$12,000 monthly pension until the case was settled, according to UOL News.
However, the judge ruled against Urach's request for this pension and demanded she pay BR$14,000 (£2,230) to the church's lawyers.
She reportedly appealed this decision and argued she simply couldn't afford to pay that amount.
The Court of Justice of Rio Grande do Sul has now rejected this appeal, finding that Urach has a declared equity of BR$900,000 (£143,000).
The judge wrote: "In addition, it is a public and notorious fact that Andressa is a public person, writer, model, TV presenter and has a YouTube channel with many subscribers, as well as a public profile on Instagram with many followers, a platform on which she even boosts sales, own (books and collection of clothes, etc) and third parties."
Urach has nearly 3million Instagram followers. Her beauty salon and cosmetics range reportedly make her BR$40,000 (£6,390) per month.
The main claim regarding the BR$2million is yet to be settled.
The church and its pastors deny "brainwashing" Urach into donating.
"It is evident that he was able to discern and could have stopped attending church," a statement read.
The organisation claimed they brought her "peace, comfort, life change, principles, traditional guidelines and financial ascension" during her five years as a member.
The next hearing is scheduled for June.
