"Perfume salesman" Elon Musk has begged his 108million Twitter followers to buy his new fragrance Burnt Hair so he can fund his latest move to buy the social media site.
The billionaire Tesla CEO made an ill-fated move to buy Twitter outright earlier this year but his latest attempt to buy the social media giant is "barrelling towards a close," according to Business Insider.
And, in a bid to stump up part of the £39.72 billion to close the deal, he has turned to flogging perfume.

"With a name like mine, getting into the fragrance business was inevitable – why did I even fight it for so long!?" Musk asked on Twitter.
His comments are in line with his new bio on the site, "Perfume Salesman".
And yesterday, October 12, Musk tried to crowd-source funds by imploring his huge Twitter following to buy his new scent, Burnt Hair.
"Please buy my perfume, so I can buy Twitter," he wrote.
"The essence of repugnant desire" is the website description of the $100-a-bottle scent which is set to start shipping in the first quarter of 2023.
Reuters reported that he has sold $100million (£90.27million) worth of the fragrance.
Meanwhile, Twitter employees dreading the billionaire's takeover are on a knife edge with some threatening to walk if the billionaire's takeover is completed after Musk revealed his plans for the social media company earlier this month.

Musk tweeted: "Buying Twitter is an accelerant to creating X, the everything app," with employees quick to share their scepticism.
Journalist Tom Gara said: "Virtually every Twitter employee I’ve spoken to in the last six months has told me that he or she plans to leave if Mr Musk takes over."
Musk came close to completing the buyout back in April of this year but backed out at the last minute, citing the number of spam accounts on the platform as his reason for abandoning the deal.
This led Twitter to sue him in an attempt to force him to follow through with the acquisition, causing the world's richest man to counter-sue.
Musk, Twitter's largest shareholder, resumed the $44bn (£40bn) deal in September.
