Drunk woman who got trapped behind sofa almost had to call 999 to rescue her
A woman who got stuck upside down behind a sofa in a plush restaurant said shocked bystanders were ready to call the fire service to get her out, before staff hoisted her from her precarious position.
Two employees of Twelve Twenty Five in North Shields, had to grab Lindsay Clark, 40, by the legs and yank her out of the sticky situation.
She was out celebrating her pal Julie Jackson's birthday and the whole incident, unfortunately for a "mortified" Lindsay, was caught on camera and put on Facebook.
Lindsey appeared on This Morning today and said that shocked bystanders were "ready to call the fire brigade."
Philip Schofield asked Lindsey how she felt about the emergency services being called, to which she replied: “I said to the [two restaurant staff], ‘That's it, get us out now’.
“I could not have that, I would have been mortified. That would have been even more embarrassing.”
Talking about newfound fame after the clip went viral, Lindsey said: “It's just mental. I mean, it is funny, but I didn't realise that it was going to be that funny.
“I always put stupid things on Facebook… I'm happy it's [gone] viral if people think it's funny.”
Explaining how it happened, she said: "I reached down to get my friend's jacket and it slid further towards the floor and I went with it until I was wedged in the hole.

"I had to get the two employees to pull me out. I couldn't push myself out because of the position I was in.
"I probably would have been okay if I was a bit skinnier but I got stuck. Of course, my friends were there to film it.
"The bar have shared it on their Facebook page so they can't have thought it was that bad."
Lindsay, who drank "a lot of Prosecco" with her pals, looks unbelievably embarrassed as she is yanked from the hole.
"I have bruises on my boobs and belly where I was stuck and scratches on my legs as the back of the sofa was made with wood," she said.
