Jasper is a Chihuahua mix currently living at the Front Street Animal Shelter in California. Jasper’s perpetual smile is the result of a condition, which means his facial muscles pull back and twitch constantly. The pup also suffers from kidney problems.
Haley Waugh from the Front Street Animal Shelter told CBS Sacramento: “I think everyone that sees him just instantly smiles.
“It’s kind of the first thing you notice when you see him.”
She added: “He might not have the most time left but we’re going to do whatever we can to make the best of it and give him as much time here as we can as comfortably as possible.
Ms Waugh has speculated that Jasper may have a “neurological” condition and that his medical bills could total $4,000.
The Front Street Animal Shelter have taken to Facebook to introduce their followers to Jasper.
In the video caption, they appeal to their virtual audience, saying: “He looks happy on the outside, but that’s not how he feels”, followed by a sad emoticon face.
They go on to describe Jasper’s condition and medical issues, before vowing to “give him a happy life”.
However, they acknowledge that his medical “tests and treatments will be very expensive.”
They announce that they are raising funds for “sweet Jasper” and the “many other animals in need of care” via a GoFundMe page linked in the post.
The caption ends by reminding readers Jasper will “also need a home once he’s feeling better, so check out the video to learn how to adopt him when that day comes!”
The following video is an adorable showcase of Jasper, which starts with the introduction: “Meet the dog who can’t stop smiling.”
Jasper appears by the side of the white lettering, cocking his head with his trademark smile.

“He is great with other animals and loves everyone he meets,” the video continues.
It ends with the entreaty, “Please share” from the Front Street Animal Shelter.
The video has received almost 2,000 reactions on Facebook in the first two days, and a wave of public sympathy for Jasper.
One viewer, Allison Alexander, commented: “Donated & shared!! Thank you for helping him & all the other animals that deserve it!”
Steph States Zeitler chimed in: “He’s a cutie pie,” with a heart-eyed emoji.
She added: “I wish that we lived nearby to him because he would brighten my day every day with his smile.”
Joan Margaret Collins agreed: “I wish I could adopt him, he’s so cute.”
