Dog forgets how to stand after getting overcome with excitement at adoption news

An adorable English bulldog was so overcome with joy at being told she was getting adopted that she could barely walk.

A video of Bailey being told the news at the shelter in Wooster, Ohio, has been seen a staggering 35 million times since being posted to TikTok by shelter owner Joe Kay.

It shows Joe approaching the the pooch’s pen while holding an adoption card.

“What’s this?” he asks as a clearly excited Bailey loses control of her back legs and slumps to the floor in excitement.

“Who’s is this, is this yours? Have you got a family?”

Thousands of people have commented on the adorable clip since it was posted.

One commented: “This made my day 100% better.”

“She peed herself from excitement,” another wrote, pointing the small puddle left on the ground at the end of the clip.

Others were left heartbroken at the sight of another dog in the background looking on expectedly as the shelter owner approached.

Joe has since posted a follow-up video showing the pooch leaving with his new family.

The dog was seen nervously walking out of the shelter before being greeted by a young girl and her father – who give him a well-deserved hug.

“You enjoy your new life okay?” Joe said as he filmed the trio walking away.

In the caption, he revealed Bailey was rescued from a puppy farm.

Puppy farms are regularly criticised by animal welfare groups due to the often poor conditions dogs live in to boost profits and the speed of breeding.

It is not the first time one of Joe’s videos has exploded on TikTok.

Last month, he filmed himself revealing to a golden retriever that she was getting adopted and viewers were convinced the other shelter dogs “cheered for her”.

Joe told Daily Star that intuitive pooches at his shelter often get excited when they sense it is their time.

"Most of the time the dogs are very excited, first because they have these new people walking and spending time with them," he said.

"Also, because the adopters are moving towards a car (meaning they are leaving) and they just somehow know it’s their time."
