Crystal meth sheep sex attacker caught having intercourse with animal in shed

A man who engaged in sexual intercourse with animals inside a school’s milking shed hadn’t slept for five days after smoking crystal meth when he was caught by officers, a court has heard.

George Danakis, 44, was spotted by police in May 2022 sexually engaging with a male sheep while a female goat was observed to be in a state of shock beside them, court documents stated.

Being caught with his pants down, he initially told the force he was in the shed looking for his phone and he had lowered his clothes to urinate.

The sordid act took place at St Marys High School in Sydney, Australia.

Teaching staff at the institute had spotted him on CCTV after growing suspicious someone had been breaking into their shed after hours.

After he was caught on May 18 last year, Danakis pleaded guilty at Penrith District Court to damaging property, bestiality, possessing bestiality material, break and enter and possessing an unauthorised firearm.

The court was told the man had been recorded herding two goats into a gated area on May 6 2022.

A week later, he was spotted on camera walking around the same shed naked from the waist down.

A phone belonging to Danakis was found on June 24, but rather than help his case, it worsened his situation as police found on the device content pertaining to bestiality alongside a photo of him holding a pump action shotgun, which he did not have permits for.

The man’s lawyer claimed Danakis’ use of methamphetamine leading up to his arrest, combined with his affinity for enjoying “sheep on the side”, led to “the state of the mind in which he did what he did”.

The court was also told Danakis displayed “sexual deviance”, which led him to lose all inhibitions.

Danakis had initially told his psychiatrist he found animals attractive only when he was under the influence of ice, because the drug dramatically increased his sex drive, his lawyer said.

However, the man eventually admitted to his doctor he was “pretty much into bestiality” after seeing it online, but continued to like women.

Danakis had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and in the weeks before he was caught he had stopped taking his medication, the court was told.

But this was not a “causal” factor for his action, prosecution and defence agreed, while key factors were his “paraphilic disorder” of attraction toward animals and his substance abuse.

Upon sentencing, Judge Sophia Beckett noted the unusual nature of the matters and the limited amount of previous case she could refer to.

Danakis was sentenced to spend three years and six months behind bars.
