John Kerry was pictured at Boston’s Logan National Airport this week defying the mask mandate in place at the facility — the second incident of the Biden climate czar flouting Covid rules while traveling.
Photographs obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show the special presidential envoy for climate approaching a security checkpoint with face fully exposed and no mask in sight.
This is not the first time the former Democratic nominee for president was seen ditching mask rules.
Back in March, photos emerged of Kerry maskless on a flight. At that time he denied breaking the mandate, saying in a tweet, “Let’s be clear: If I dropped my mask to one ear on a flight, it was momentary, I’ll wear my mask because it saves lives and stops the spread. It’s what the science tells us to do.”
The new images offer no clear explanation for why Kerry flouted the rules — he is not seen eating or drinking, which are exceptions to the mask rule. In the photos he is seen walking toward a body scanner. A TSA agent can be seen in front of Kerry fully masked.
Although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has relaxed indoor mask mandates for individuals who are fully vaccinated, that change in the rules does not apply to transportation hubs. According to the CDC, “Conveyance operators must continue to require all people onboard to wear masks when boarding and disembarking, and for the duration of travel.”
Kerry is the latest among a series of Democratic pols who have defied coronavirus regulations since the onset of the pandemic. These include California Gov. Gavin Newsom who was snapped maskless at an indoor birthday party at the ritzy French Laundry restaurant in November of last year, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who was photographed, maskless, in a hair salon in September, when such facilities were mandated to be closed.
The White House did not respond to a request for comment.
