A man accused of raping and disfiguring a woman he held captive in his California home for six months may have more victims, police warn.
Peter McGuire, 59, of Chino Hills, is accused of horrific abuse of his 22-year-old roommate who he allegedly raped, gouged out her eye, ‘disabled’ her tongue and slit her nose, ear and lip.
The victim, 22, moved into McGuire’s home but when she decided to move out he refused to let her leave and kept her against her will, according to the LA Times.
McGuire has since pleaded not guilty to ten charges including kidnapping, mayhem and sodomy by use of force.
Mara Rodriguez, a spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department told DailyMail.com that ‘investigators believe there may be additional victims.’
‘The update yesterday was to release [McGuire’s] photo to determine if there are any additional victims that we are not aware of,’ Rodriguez said. ‘I am not aware of any additional victims coming forward as of now.’
McGuire is being held in custody at their West Valley Detention Center and is scheduled to be in court again on July 27, 2022.
Neighbors in the quiet residential cul-de-sac were horrified to learn of the sickening abuse going on behind closed doors.
One longtime neighbor, who asked not to be identified told DailyMail.com, described McGuire as a friendly guy who had lived at the property on and off for at least ten years and would regularly pop by to do maintenance.
He said he’d never seen any evidence of girls going in or out.

‘He would come by and do maintenance on his home. I only saw him out in his driveway when I saw him and he would wave and I would wave,’ the neighbor said.
‘He seemed okay and nothing odd stood out to me about him,’ he said.
He said McGuire owned a detective agency and that he figured the three vehicles he kept in his driveway, one of them being a pickup truck, was part of his business.
‘I am greatly surprised Pete was involved. I heard he got in trouble,’ said the neighbor, who described the cul-de-sac that has about 10 homes in the court as quiet. ‘Everyone keeps to themselves for the most part. I don’t know what was going on but, I guess you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. ‘
Another resident, who lives about a mile away from Cordovan Court, told the DailyMail.com that she was ‘shocked’ by the news describing it as ‘frightening.’
‘I am shocked. It’s atrocious. I feel so sorry for the young girl,’ the woman said, who did not want to be identified. ‘We have parks and dog parks and it is very family-oriented, quiet-area. Something like this doesn’t happen here.’
She added: ‘I am glad he is locked up now.’
Another woman who lives a few houses away from McGuire told DailyMail.com that ‘she didn’t know anything and that she and her mother just moved to the court.’

The felony complaint issued by the Superior Court of California County of San Bernardino Rancho Cucamonga District obtained by DailyMail.com goes into detail of each of the 10 counts the victim endured between January 1, 2022 through June 9, 2022 describing it as a ‘crime of torture.’
The San Bernardino police spokesperson told DailyMail.com that shortly after the young woman moved into the house she was not allowed to leave.
‘She was held there against her will by him [McGuire] and at that point was subjected to multiple assaults. We have charges of sodomy and oral copulation, mayhem, rape,’ Rodriguez said.
McGuire was arrested at 8.30am on Friday after he fled to another property in Placenta, Orange County, and barricaded himself inside.

Five of the counts include special allegations that the crimes involved infliction of great bodily injury and administering a controlled substance during a sex crime, prosecutors said.
