The on found at the university has been dubbed the “Bossburg Cripplefoot”.

It shows a giant human-like foot, but misshapen and “crippled”.

It was part of potential Bigfoot tracks found in Bossburg, Washington in 1969, and has baffled scientists ever since.

Dr Grover Krantz, an expert in Bigfoot evidence, said in a book her wrote before he died in 2002: “Before I examined these prints, I would have given you ten to one odds that the whole thing was a hoax.

“It would be extremely complicated to come up with the idea of faking a disfigured print and making the tracks go as far as they did.

“The idea of what I saw being explained as a very tall man wearing a gorilla costume in the middle of nowhere is impossible.”

The huge creature is thought to live mainly in obscure parts of the northwestern United States.
