Bloke who broke seagull’s wing by whacking it with cricket bat wanted by cops

The man, who was described as white, in his 50s, and about 5ft 10ins tall by Dorset Police, reportedly swung a cricket bat at the defenceless bird which led to it having to be put down.

The man is described to have been wearing a grey Jim Beam t-shirt and grey hat and thought to have spoken in a South African accent.
With the reported attack said to have taken place in front of children, Police Constable Josh Hurwood, of West Dorset Police, said an investigation is currently underway.
He said: "This was a distressing incident for people to have witnessed, with many young families in the area at the time and we are carrying out an investigation, with support from the RSPCA, to identify the man involved.
"This occurred on the seafront at a busy time of day and we are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or who has any information relating to the man’s identity, to please come forward."
Individuals with any information on the incident have been urged to contact Dorset Police as well as independent charity Crimestoppers for those who may wish to be anonymous when providing information.

This news came after the distressing reports of a kitten being doused in white solvent paint before being discarded in a gutter.
The feline was "unable to move" as the paint had completely dried and the animal shelter volunteer that found the poor kitten was left stunned that somebody would have done this.
The kitten eventually made a recovery and was rehoused by 4 The Love of Cats Rescue, a Rotherham-based non-profit organisation that works to rehouse cats and kittens in South Yorkshire.
