High-pressure is expected to give Britons dry and settled weather for the weekend with some sunshine breaking through the cloud in places. However, Ms Keith-Lucas has warned BBC Weather watchers on Friday that temperatures will remain “not great” for the time of year as a stubborn cold front remains. The bright and dry weekend weather is likely to give way into next week with meteorological charts noting a spike in the likelihood for snowfall in parts of the UK, most notably Scotland and the North-East of England, from Wednesday.

“Not just today but through the next couple of days as well.
“Fair about of cloud, some sunshine breaking through the clouds but temperatures not great for this time of year.
She added: “It is feeling quite cool out there, we have a cold air mass with us.
