The Sun’s political editor Harry Cole demanded an answer from President Biden as to whether Britain is “still at the back of a queue for a free trade deal” with the United States following a fallout between the two nations.

But Mr Biden dodged the question and gestured at Prime Minister Boris Johnson to answer instead, despite it being directed at Mr Biden.

Mr Biden said: “Ask him a question, not me!

“We are going to have to work that [trade deal] through.”

Boris chimed in, adding: ”Don’t forget folks, we have settled the Boeing Airbus thing which was a massive problem between us.

“And say nothing of the beef and whiskey which I already mentioned.”

Biden interjected saying “you smiled when you said the whiskey!”
