Nicola Sturgeon has insisted she has an “undeniable” mandate for a second Scottish independence referendum after the Scottish Government struck a “ground-breaking” power-sharing deal with the Greens. This includes an agreement to pursue another vote on Scottish independence before the end of 2023 if the threat of coronavirus has subsided. But SNP MSP Christine Grahame has pushed back any hopes of pushing for Scottish independence after vowing to get the country through Covid first.
Speaking to ITV’s Representing Border, Scottish Tory MSP Oliver Mundell said: “This coalition is going to deliver chaos.
“It goes directly against the views of the people in the south of Scotland.
“When Christine says these parties want to cooperate, there’s only one thing that they’ve got in mind and that’s breaking up our United Kingdom.
“All the green stuff is just window dressing, the Greens have very extreme views and right down at the bottom of their list is our environment.”
Ms Grahame responded: “We make it plain we’ve been a party of independence but nobody is pressing any referendum button until we’re through Covid and this crisis.
“My concern is the winter that lies ahead. I know the First Minister focused on that.
“I hope the whole parliament is focused on that because there’s a hard road ahead.”

She said as she had her second vaccination under two weeks ago, she must self-isolate for the full period.
