Nadine Dorries mocks Labour MP who wants her ousted in new book rant
Rishi Sunak says Nadine Dorries is not doing her job as an MP
Nadine Dorries has publicly branded Labour MP Sir Christopher Bryant a “publicity seeker” after he attempted to organise a coup to have her ousted from Parliament.
The former Culture Secretary had avoided making a comment after Bryant went on a tour of media outlets to promote the idea she should be ordered back to the Commons with a vote by MPs because of her recent absence.
But today it emerged the Labour MP who is chairman of the standards and privileges committees is launching a book and seeking publicity for it.
Ms Dorries reacted on Twitter in a post which reflected comments her friends made about Bryant when he launched his attack on her.
She said: “Ahh, Chris Bryant has a book out – well, I never. This latest bout of publicity seeking was so unlike him…All is now clear…”

The tweet was attached to an article on a preview of the book where Bryant claimed he had “been assaulted by five MPs”.
Ms Dorries’s unsympathetic message may be explained by the attack Bryant launched on her.
Last week, he suggested she was called in by a vote of MPs because she has not voted in the Commons for six months or made a speech in a year.
It followed Flitwick Town Council in her Mid Bedfordshire constituency writing an open letter to her demanding she quit.
In June, Ms Dorries had announced that she was resigning “with imediate effect” when her peerage was rejected after she had been included on Boris Johnson’s resignation honours list.

However, she has not stepped down unlike Mr Johnson who followed through with his decision to resign made on the same day in protest over the 90-day suspension the Privileges Committee had recommended in its controversial report into whether he lied to Parliament.
Ms Dorries is a close ally of Mr Johnson’s and had already been targeted in a Commons censure motion for criticising the conduct and decision of the Priveleges Committee inquiry into the former MP.
She was named alongside senior figures like Dame Priti Patel and Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg and other supporters of Mr Johnson.
Many of her friends believe Bryant’s move against her – which he discussed with Tory government whips – was part of “a vindictive” attempt to hound Boris Johnson’s supporters.
There have also been concerns over the attack Rishi Sunak made on her when interviewed by LBC suggesting she was not doing her job as an MP properly.
Supporters noted she has criticised the Prime Minister for his role in the coup to remove Mr Johnson.
