Mike Graham called into talkRADIO on his day off and discussed Rishi Sunak’s upcoming Budget and whether they agreed with the furlough scheme. While no official confirmation has been made about its extension, it is believed the scheme may continue for a few more months. Mike Graham angrily disagreed with the proposition saying the country should be reopened quicker to get people back to work.
Speaking on talkRADIO, host Patrick Christys said: “Just moving on to what we’re expecting this week with regards to the Budget.
“Rishi Sunak is going to be unveiling his massive package yet again.
“You actually would want him to essentially scrap furlough?”
Mr Graham replied: “Yeah, because in the end, you can’t just keep extending it and extending it.

“I’m meeting loads of people out here today, and not I’m not allowed to meet any of the people actually know, how does that work?”
Co-host Alex Phillips also addressed the issue of getting people back to work after furlough.
She said: “People have been paid essentially not to work and, actually, how do you get people back into work?
“Are there going to be jobs to go to and actually, psychologically, if you have taken a year out and used your pay-packet sitting in the Bahamas why would you want to go back to work?”
Mr Graham added: “I don’t care about people’s mentality and I’m not interested in whether they don’t want to go back to work.
“If they don’t want to work fine, they’re unemployed, they claim unemployment money.
“We can play in that way but it won’t be as much I can tell you that, but I think people do want to get back to work because nobody is really meant to be living a life of leisure.
“You go insane in the end, you have to work, you have to make money.”
