TalkRADIO presenter Jeremy Kyle was ecstatic over the AUKUS deal as the host blasted “awful” French President Emmanual Macron for being spiteful to the UK over the years. The new alliance which provides nuclear submarines to Australia ripped up an existing contract with France who fell behind on their promises to construct the submarines. Mr Kyle celebrated the victory over France before clashing with a guest who was not as impressed with the so-called win over the neighbouring country.
Speaking on TalkRADIO, Mr Kyle was joined by journalist and political commentator Mike Buckley to debate the AUKUS deal.
Mr Kyle remarked: “Isn’t it great Mike to see us bloodying the nose of that awful little man Macron and telling the French to do one?”
Mr Buckley replied: “Well, it depends on your point of view, I don’t think that’s really the point of our defence or security policy.
“I think the point is to keep this country safe and to make sure that Britain is a force for good in the world.

“I’m still entirely unconvinced that this pact will make the world a safer place for the UK or for any other nation…”
Mr Kyle intervened and wanted to get a more emotive response from Mr Buckley.
He added: “What I’m saying to you is by anybody’s standards Macron was very smug during Brexit.
“He’s always out to bash the Brits, he’s always out to put himself there, what I’m saying to you is, isn’t it from a British point of view glorious to give him a bit of a bloody nose?”

Mr Buckley bluntly replied: “No it isn’t at all, we need a good relationship with Macron and with all other European leaders on just an objective level, doesn’t have to be on his terms or on our terms or anybody else’s terms.
“But our economy is suffering because of Brexit which we see on a daily basis.
“Our security and defence is also suffering because of Brexit it’s absolutely made us less safe, we should be doing everything we can to develop security and defence relationships.”
Mr Buckley said it was especially important to establish security agreements as the US has proven itself to be an “unreliable ally”.

Mr Kyle interjected once more and said he did not have to agree with everything Mr Buckley said before swiftly moving on with his programme.
The deal signed by the UK, US and Australia will allow Australia to build nuclear submarines with the aid of the two countries.
Diplomatic disagreements with Australia and China which have led to sanctions and crippling tariffs has worried Western powers over the instability in the region.
AUKUS has said it will “promote security and prosperity” by sharing cybersecurity and other military assets in response.
However, the pact does mean Australia has scrapped a £27billion deal with France signed in 2016 to build 12 submarines.
French leaders have called it a “stab in the back” with defence analysts saying the construction timeline given by France was too slow.
Submarines were not expected to be complete until 2035.
Conservative MPs said the French President was “throwing his rattle out of the pram” with his actions.
“They’ve been massively triggered over losing the subs contract,” an MP told Express.co.uk.
