From the start of next month, the state pension will be rising by 3.1 percent.

Prior to his Budget reveal many charities had called on the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, to provide further help for pensioners.

However, Mr Sunak did not agree and failed to mention pensions within his address to MPs.

Instead, the Chancellor opted to make changes to fuel duty, energy bills and National Insurance contributions amongst other policies.

If inflation does reach the levels predicted by the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) then the state pension could see a significant rise in April 2023 – as the increases are usually linked to the inflation rate in the preceding autumn.

But with that being more than a year away do you think Mr Sunak could have done more to help pensioners in his Spring Statement?
