Speaking to talkRADIO, the Unlocked UK co-founder and former MEP Ben Habib launched a volley of damming criticism at the European Union following its threats to block jab exports to Britain. Mr Habib said the EU will “never put the interests of its citizens first” because their “sole purpose” is to make sure its power is preserved. He went on to brand the European Union a “super nationalist institution” with “malign intent” towards Britain.
Mr Habib said: “The EU Commission is appointed. For them, their sole purpose in life is to make sure the Commissions authority and its power is preserved.
“And if that is at the cost of the economies and the health of citizens across the EU, so be it”.
He added that the EU “never will put the interests of their citizen first” because they are “removed from their citizens” and “they are not elected.”
The former MEP went on to say the EU is “flailing around revealing themselves to be the malignant organization that it is.”

He added: “As a Brexiteer, I am delighted by it because it actually shows the world what we know has been going on for years and years.
“That this is not a friendly institution.”
He went on to deliver a resounding blow to the institution and its existence.
He concluded: “This is a super nationalist institution that has malign intent towards the United Kingdom.”

Mr Habib’s comments come as the bloc has spiralled further into crisis this week amid a backdrop of repeated failures on its vaccine rollout, threatening a jab blockade to the UK and fear-mongering over the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
On Wednesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen threatened to block the export of coronavirus vaccines to the UK accusing AstraZeneca of having “underproduced and underdelivered” to the bloc.
She said she is “ready to use whatever tool we need” to ensure the bloc gets jabs.
The ban is due to be debated virtually by leaders of the 27 EU member states on Thursday.

Boris Johnson is expected to speak to his EU counterparts over the course of this week in a bid to halt the restriction.
Recently the AstraZeneca vaccine was temporarily suspended in a number of EU countries over fears it caused blood clots.
But the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) urged these countries to re-start the rollout of the jab following little evidence for the decision of the bloc
The EMA found the jab was “safe and effective” to use.
