The Prime Minister said: “The behaviour directed at the Leader of the Opposition tonight is absolutely disgraceful. All forms of harassment of our elected representatives are completely unacceptable.”
Mr Johnson thanked the police for “responding swiftly” to the incident.
The Labour leader was bundled into a police car after having abuse screamed at him by protesters.
The activists could be heard screaming “traitor” as they confronted him.
Sir Keir was walking past the New Scotland Yard headquarters on his way back towards Parliament when he was confronted.
Police surrounded him as they sought to help him make his journey unimpeded.
However, after dozens of furious protesters managed to surround the politician he was dramatically pulled away by police.
