WhiteBIT CEO Volodymyr Nosov About A Joint Project With Whitepay
From the very beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, large crypto exchanges and crypto community members have supported the people of Ukraine with donations and charitable fundraisings. The Kharkiv-based exchange WhiteBIT, headed by Volodymyr Nosov, did not stand aside either.
Together with its partner, Whitepay, WhiteBIT has launched a platform for fundraising in digital assets and national currencies. Anyone can donate using a crypto wallet or a bank card to one of the three funds:
- humanitarian aid to citizens affected by the war;
- support of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine;
- support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On the 6th of May, WhiteBT CEO Volodymyr Nosov wrote on his Instagram: “From the first day of the war, we have been helping not in word, but in deed. So, through Whitepay, we have already transferred more than $4 million for humanitarian needs and to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
In addition to organizing fundraising, the Kharkiv-based exchange WhiteBIT itself made donations to help Ukraine. At the very beginning of the war, the company sent $1 000 000 for humanitarian needs. Also, on the 8th of May, Volodymyr Nosov published on his social media the information about the transfer of 10 million UAH in USDT to the United24 fund, an initiative of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
“WhiteBIT exchange made the largest donation to date – 10 000 000 UAH in USDT for Volodymyr Zelensky’s United24 fund. Thus, we want to call on the crypto community and all those who are not indifferent to unite for raising funds for military, humanitarian support, and the rebuilding of Ukraine”, Volodymyr Nosov comments.
Such active participation of the WhiteBIT exchange and Volodymyr Nosov in helping a country subjected to military aggression is not surprising because the company itself originates from Ukraine. Moreover, most of the team of specialists come from Kharkiv, which was severely damaged by hostilities.
Also, on the 5th of May, Whitepay became an official partner of United24. Volodymyr Nosov spoke about the benefits of this cooperation: “As part of this partnership, Whitepay will allow accepting donations in most currencies of the world and more than 100 digital assets and will provide control over payments and their security.”
It is not the first partnership between the WhiteBIT crypto exchange and the state. Before this, the company started collaborating with the public services portal Diia to simplify the identity verification procedure for citizens of Ukraine. A memorandum of cooperation between WhiteBIT and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was also signed. Volodymyr Nosov recently spoke about this partnership live with Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Based on the company’s mission to massively introduce blockchain technology and digital assets, it can be assumed that Nosov plans to continue entering into partnerships of the WhiteBIT exchange with government agencies or projects.
