Shiba Inu ($SHIB) Dev Explains Why Shibarium Beta Testnet Does Not Have a Unique Blockchain ID
Shiba Inu ($SHIB) lead developer “Shytoshi” and developer “Kaal” addressed the “FUD” surrounding the beta version of Shibarium.
It all started when “Steve,” who is apparently a member of the Shiba Inu growth team, asked on the Shiba Inu Discord why the Shibarium beta testnet is currently using the same blochchain ID (917) as Rinia Testnet:
“So a genesis file creates a block chain. The genesis file has many attributes But the big one is chain ID. This ID is completely unique and metamask and other wallet applications use it to determine which network to send txs too. Chain ID is the simplest thing any Blockchain dev looks for first when deploying a Blockchain. As using an ID that already exists is just incompetent as your chain wouldn’t work properly and everyone trying to interact with your chain would instead interact with the other chain.
“Unless you somehow asked the owner of the other chain to turn their nodes off so you could spin up a node with a copied genesis file. So why is it that it looks like shibarium test net has taken rinia testnet genesis file Changed the name from renia But forgot to change the chain ID Rinia has been live and owned that chain Id since Feb. And was planned in December. The only way this chain Id could have been taken from rinia test net is if the rinia test net dev is telling the truth.
“There’s no way for it to be taken over without shytoshi and kaal specifically having coms with him and asking him to reboot (tricking him) so they could take his genesis file and steal his work. Every comment here has actual screenshots here too. I wanted to be a validator on this network as you all know for over 15 months I spent 40k USD on supporting it. 1know what I’m talking about when it comes to Blockchain. I have questions that need answering.“
To make things even more complicated, there were allegations by one moderator “Trophias” (who claims to be a member of the metaverse team) that he had been “threatened” and
Shiba Inu’s lead developer “Shytoshi Kusama” had this to say about the personal attacks against him and his project:
“Half the people in this room have spent the last weeks trying to call me names, dox my real name on Socials, call me a scammer, discredit while trying to pump their bags on projects they used my name to pump in the first place! For months while working along side me they went behind my back and collected enough Shibians to have these moments and appear intelligent. And have acquired, by dumping with each listing, enough Bone to dump and make you all panic. It’s a smart and also very sad play that we saw coming a mile away. I lost some very close frens in the process and what a shame to see my once mighty team reduced to this level of normality in this space. But in the end. We have a NEW incredible team (as you have all witnessed from the new posts). New socials (as the old ones are being locked by the same individuals who will post against this post, notice how the ShibMV account ignored SXSW) AND amazing products and services, fueled by a momentum that drives us forward. We build against ALL FUD.“
Finally, if all that drama was not enough, crypto influencer Ben Armstrong (aka “Bitboy Crypto”) claims he is going to reveal the real identity of the founder of the Shiba Inu project this week:
Anyway, at 6:03 a.m. UTC on March 16, senior Shiba Inu developer “Kaal” explained on Twitter why the current Shibarium beta testnet is not using a unique blockchain ID:
“Dispelling some FUD ever since we did the Alpha network deployment few chain IDs were picked randomly- 417(Alpha), 517(Staging), 917(pre-pod/beta) and these chain were not registered anywhere at that time, I made a mistake to not recheck when the puppynet network was launched Without getting into any fist fights I will be redeploying new version of BETA network with a new chain ID Fresh deployments will be rare in the future but are possible because we will still be in BETA phase. I wish good luck to the blockchain and hope we can all work together.“
As for when this new deployment of Shibarium beta would be ready, he said “in 4-5 days.”
