Lisa Pollina Joins IG Group as Non-Executive Director
Spread betting and CFDs provider IG Group has appointed industry veteran Lisa Pollina, who once was vice chairman for RBC Capital Markets, as a non-executive director.
Pollina’s is currently an investment adviser to Ares Management, where she advises the US asset manager on financial services and technology investments. Her previous roles include senior advisor to the CEO for RBC International, and then held senior roles at the capital markets division of the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC).
IG Group CEO, Mike McTighe said the online trading firm will leverage Pollina’s experience of working with US-based firms and regulator ahead of acquiring tastytrade. The US privately held firm, which operates online brokerage and trading education platform, is based in Chicago. The deal is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2021 and values tastytrade at $1 billion.
Lisa had also served as a financial institutions executive at Bank of America with responsibility for a global corporate banking division serving clients in Asia, EMEA, Latin America, Canada and the United States.
In 2016, she joined Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the major equity clearing and settlement services provider, where she sat on the board’s audit committee, finance/capital committee and risk committee.

Pollina’s career also includes stints with policy makers in the US, including with the Federal Reserve’s working group on global markets. She was also a member of the Financial Services Roundtable in Washington, D.C.
