Crypto Trading Hamster That Outperformed Warren Buffett Resurfaces With Shiba Inu ($SHIB) as Top Holding

Crypto trading hamster “Mr. Goxx” (named after the now-defunct Bitcoin exchange Mt Gox) has returned after its social media accounts became active once again and started live-streaming his trades on Amazon’s video-streaming platform Twitch.

The hamster, which became well-known for outperforming many traditional investors including Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffett and the stock market’s benchmark index S&P 500, is currently HODLing the meme-inspired cryptocurrency Shiba Inu ($SHIB) as its top holding.

According to an update posted on its subreddit, Mr. Goxx’s current top holding is Shiba Inu ($SHIB), and is followed by Aave ($AAVE) and Ocean Protocol ($OCEAN). The hamster started trading with €1,084.33 (around $1,130) has so far lost around 16.2% of his account’s value since his return, and is now sitting on €908.45 ($647.2) of assets, little over half of which are in crypto.

The meme-inspired cryptocurrency Shiba Inu ($SHIB) currently represents nearly 18% of Mr. Goxx’s cryptocurrency position. The hamster has traded other meme-inspired crypto including DOGE, but isn’t HODLing onto it.

Mr. Goxx trades cryptoassets through his wooden box, which is hooked to a computer and allows it to execute specific trades. Inside of the box, there’s an “intention wheel,” on which Mr. Goxx runs to choose between different cryptoassets.

Once the hamster stops running, he has selected an asset, which is then bought or sold based on his movement through two different “decision tunnels.”

Mr. Goxx’s owners had said the hamster passed away back in December, and ended the streams at that time. The hamster resumed trading earlier this month and has already traded over $5,000 worth of cryptoassets.

As the administrators of Mr. Goxx’s subreddit note, the investments the hamster makes are “not financial advice” and are instead for “entertainment purposes only.”

The post adds: “Investments shown here are not financial advice. Do not make financial decisions based on trades or data shown here. Mimicking trades might lead to severe financial losses. All data is supplied without guarantee and liability. Errors, delays and omissions of data are expected.”
