Markets Digest China's Trade Data, Wait For U.S. CPI Reading
Sentiment remained subdued across world markets ahead of the release of inflation readings from the U.S. on Wednesday. Also, China’s trade data for April that revealed an unexpected fall in imports and a slower growth in exports dampened sentiment. Bank of England’s interest rate review due on Thursday also swayed market mood.
European benchmarks are trading lower. Wall Street Futures are also trading in the red zone. Asian stocks finished trading on a mixed note.
Dollar edged higher, lifting the Dollar Index. Bond yields mostly eased. Crude oil prices dropped. Gold has edged higher. Cryptocurrencies declined.
