Joe Biden has double-digit lead over Trump in Pennsylvania: poll

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is leading President Trump by more than ten points in the former vice president’s home state of Pennsylvania, according to a new poll.

The Wednesday Quinnipiac University poll found Biden outpacing President Trump 53-42 percent in the Keystone State.

President Trump narrowly beat out Hillary Clinton there in the 2016 presidential election, making him the first Republican to win the state since 1988.

Along with wins in the other consistently blue states of Wisconsin and Michigan, Trump’s Pennsylvania victory helped propel him to an electoral college win in 2016.

But Biden, who was born in Scranton and spent his formative years in the state, has enjoyed enormous support in Pennsylvania.

The former US senator even kicked off his presidential bid in April at a union rally in the western part of the state.

Biden received huge support from women and non-white votes — leading Trump among those groups 60-36 percent and 70-27 percent, respectively.

Men are more evenly split, with President Trump leading 49-45 percent. White voters, meanwhile, favor Biden over Trump by 49-45 percent.
